Timmy

Timmy has found his Forever Home!

Barktoberfest Jade Tim adopt 071Congratulations you wonderful boy! You deserve the best — and you got it!!

timmy carWe’ll be honest. When we went to meet Timmy, we thought we were doing a quick meet-and-greet in order to help him find a new home. But sometimes good things just fall into your lap … and that’s exactly what happened with Timmy.

Timmy crateAt only 10 months old, Timmy hasn’t known much time outside a crate. This friendly, energetic guy had been passed around and no one knew what to do with him. The blisters on his feet show he’s spent a lot more time in his crate than walking on the grass. When we met him, Timmy was living with a family that was doing the best they could. But their situation made it impossible for them to give this boy the time and attention he needed.

We knew DogsHome was the right place for Timmy. He is currently staying with one of our DogsHome team members, and is slowly learning what the big, wide world is all about … and how to enjoy it.

So first we took him for a nice, long walk in the woods. Timmy was fascinated by everything! He is a natural at picking up sticks and even took a tentative step into a creek. He couldn’t get enough of the smells all around him!

After a tongue-hanging-out couple of hours, we needed to get down to business. So off we went to the pet store to stock up on food, toys and treats.

And maybe this toy?

Let’s stick with the nylon chew toys for now.

Please check back frequently to follow Timmy’s progress as we introduce him to life!

Timmy’s had a busy first week! He’s enjoyed new experiences such as climbing rocks in a nearby park (and showing off his amazing “sit”) …

timmy rock… learning new cues such as “touch” (he targets your hand with his nose) …

tim touch… and getting belly rubs from all the people he’s been meeting on our walks, who’ve fallen in love at first sight with this terrific boy!

Timmy is continuing to surprise us every day with how quick he is learning basic skills — and how much he is loving the process! Positive reinforcement keeps Timmy motivated. And of course, we make sure there is always plenty of time for hugs and cuddling!

Let’s give a round of ap-paws for Timmy’s debut this past weekend at a community event! This young guy did beautifully when we set up shop outside Concord Pet Foods & Supplies in Paoli. He was happy greeting men …

Timmy, you impress us more with every passing day!

Tim slide

Does life get any better than playing on a slide and making new friends?! Timmy’s enjoying his time at the playground with buddies Nora and Mookie.

tim ice creamTime flies when life is good! Timmy may have spent much of his first 10 months in a crate, but he’s been living it up since joining our DogsHome family! He was happy to share his first birthday with some of his closest friends at a celebration held at Concord Pet Foods & Supplies in Paoli. Got cake?
